Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, has denied assaulting some construction workers on a stretch of road at Adjirigano in Accra.
Speaking on Hitz FM, the SM President said he only sent his boys to tell the construction workers to stop work for further discussion and agreement on how to fix road that led to his office.
Shata Wale said the workers had blocked the main road to his office without giving him any notice. The ‘Freedom’ singer said although he instructed his boys to approach the workers, he did not order anyone to assault any of them.
“On Monday I was going to my office with my driver and I saw them block the main road to my office, so I got down from my car and asked who is in charge here.”
“Why have they blocked the road and they are putting coal tar on the same coal tar road? This thing we have been seeing it from contractors, the road that has been tarred already they are putting another tar on it.”
Shatta Wale insisted there are many roads in the area that are in deplorable state and are yet to be attended to.
Thus, he wanted a one on one with the road constructor in charge to question him on why the road leading to his office and the others were unpliable.
According to him, minutes after ordering the workers to halt their operations, the constructor in charge came to him to plead.
He said that the boss in charge assured him all the roads will be taken care of adding that no one on site was assaulted.
“Myself, I have a video I took, so I am ready to take it to the police. I am just waiting for them to come and tar my road because that was the agreement.”
However, the road contractor on site, Kennedy Acquah insists he and some members of his staff were beaten.
He said that he has lodged a formal complaint at the East Legon police station after visiting the hospital to treat the injuries he sustained.
