Titus Glover presents defense for authorization of Okada
Mr. Frimpong described a call by the Ghana Medical Association and some clinical specialists for a restriction on Okada use, with the Head of the Accident, Emergency and Orthopedic Department of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital driving the call to spare lives.
He said from December 21, 2019 to January 1, 2020, the division conceded 79 survivors of vehicle mishap, 58 casualties of cruiser mishaps and one bike mishap casualty, while between December 22 and 23, 2019, 30 street auto collisions were recorded, out of which 20 were not kidding Okada-related cases.
He said a portion of the casualties had squashed bones, breaks, serious injuries, head wounds and injury, taking note of that because of the seriousness of the cases, a portion of the casualties had their appendages severed to spare their lives if all options demonstrated pointless.
Mr. Frimpong said it was the previously mentioned increments in mishaps that constrained the National Democratic Congress (NDC), with Mr. John Mahama as President, to pass the Road Traffic Regulation, 2012 (L.I. 2180), with areas 128 (1) (2) and (3) and 84 of the L.I. forbidding cruiser or tricycle use for business purposes.
He was of the conviction that the components that prompted the entry of L.I. 2180 by Mr. Mahama and the NDC had not changed in light of the fact that individuals were all the while biting the dust, supporting different wounds, riders kept on dismissing street wellbeing guidelines and individuals were being ransacked at gunpoint and with blades, utilizing Okada, including that “the circumstance is critical and we can’t permit this to go on”.
He asked legislators to make a business-accommodating condition that would support the setting up of more organizations to make manageable and decent work open doors for the young, center more around putting resources into horticulture, grow the street organization and fix the railroad framework
