For the first time, teacher and comedian, Teacher Kwadwo has opened up on an issue that caused him backlash in the media space.
In 2018, the comedian came under attack over some comments he made on social media which were considered sexually offensive.
After the hue and cry by advocacy groups on social media he lost a deal with Huawei as a brand influencer and was also queried by the District Education Directorate of the Ghana Education Service (GES).
Speaking to Kwame Dadzie on Ghana Weekend TV, he said the GES did not even call him to ask his side of the story.
They sent him a letter to warn him. “It was a shame to them.
It didn’t make sense to me that mature as they are, they did not bother to even call me and find out my side of the story,” he said.
He added that after receiving the letter, he told his Circuit Supervisor that he wanted to meet the officers to tell them how unfair they had been in the case.
He, however, stated that he learnt a lot of lessons from that incident.
“When this happened, I got a lot of bigger opportunities. Maybe I wouldn’t have gotten those bigger deals if I didn’t lose the other one,” he said.
Teacher Kwadwo also noted that he has learnt to be guarded about his choice of words in his work as a comedian.
