The New Enthusiastic Gathering (NPP) MP for Assin Focal, Mr Kennedy Agyapong on Monday, September 28 neglected to appear in court to answer hatred charges because of what his legal counselors said was “difficulty from a post-Coronavirus condition.”

His lead counsel, Mr Kwame Gyan clarified that his customer got the difficulty after last Friday’s court hearing.

He thusly introduced a clinical reason structure and mentioned the court to defer the case for 14 days to permit his customer to recover.

He therefore presented a medical excuse form and requested the court to adjourn the case for 14 days to allow his client to recuperate.


The managing judge, Equity Amos Wuntah Wuni consented to suspend the case however requested the clinical specialist who composed the clinical reason obligation to show up under the steady gaze of the court on Thursday.

“It is thus requested that the clinical official Dr. Ken Addo of Sacred Trinity Clinical Center/Spa and Wellbeing Ranch shows up under the watchful eye of this court on Thursday Oct 1, 2020 to address the clinical reason obligation,” the appointed authority requested.

Equity Wuni said he was requesting the clinical official to show up under the watchful eye of the court in light of the fact that the manner in which clinical reason obligations were being stated, “someone must address it.”

Contempt case

Mr. Agyapong is in court over a supposed disdainful remarks in which he depicted the adjudicator as “moronic”.

Mr. Agyapong’s supposed remarks were made regarding a land matter in which Susan Bandoh and Christopher Akuetteh Kotei had sued him (Kennedy Agyapong), Ibrahim Jaja, Nana Yaw Duodu otherwise known as Sledge and the Auditor General of Police.

While the case was still at the Land Division of the High Court (Land Court 12), the MP supposedly scandalized the court on a program broadcasted on NET2 television and Oman FM on September 2, this year.

A court request marked on September 9, by Equity Wuni stated, “I thusly bring the said Kennedy Ohene Agyapong per a warrant gave under my hand and seal to show up under the watchful eye of the High Court (Land Court 12) on Monday, September 14, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. to show cause why he ought not be seriously rebuffed for scorn if the issues are demonstrated against him as per the general inclination of the court.”
