The Conference of Heads of Assisted Senior High Schools, CHASS says numerous state funded schools are yet to be snared onto the free web that administration says it has given.
Public President, Yacoub Abubakar says supposedly, just a few schools in the Ashanti district have profited by the Free WiFi strategy.
“I am mindful that some Senior High Schools have been associated with it yet we actually have numerous that have not been associated with it yet. For instance, my own school has not been snared on yet,” he said in a meeting with JoyNews.
His reaction comes after Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia said on Asempa FM that 80% of Senior High Schools the nation over have gotten free Wifi associations supported by the legislature.
This, he clarified, is proposed to expand the extent of training, Information, Communication and Technology (ICT), examination and information obtaining in these organizations.
He said that the framework is being tried before it is endorsed to be good for use.
Mr Abubakar showed that despite the fact that web links have been introduced on his school grounds alongside others some others, they are, notwithstanding, yet to get any web association.
“They are left with acquiring the firm to fix them and snare us onto it,” he included.
In the interim, the Member of Parliament for Builsa South and an individual from the Education Committee Dr Clement Apaak has moved the Vice President to give the names of the apparent multitude of schools said to have been associated with government’s free Wifi program.
Taking to his Facebook post, Dr Apaak said since Ghana has a complete number of 721 Senior High Schools, 80% of the number will mean 577 SHSs have WiFi as claimed by the Vice President.
“Is it wrong to request that Vice President Bawumia outfit the great individuals of Ghana with the names and areas of the 577 out of the all out of 721 Senior High Schools in Ghana associated with WiFi?
Dr Apaak expressed that Ghanaians reserve each privilege to confirm the Vice President’s cases.
